Customer care & transparency

Policies and food information.

Effective July 14, 2026. These terms apply to GEN Treats’ local made-to-order service. An accepted order, approved quote, and required physical food label control when they provide more specific details.

Ordering terms and acceptance

GEN Treats & Co. serves made-to-order celebration treats and party packages in the Bryan–College Station area. A custom party-package request is an inquiry, not a reservation, quote acceptance, or confirmed order. A standard-menu order is not accepted merely because a cart is submitted or a browser returns from payment. GEN accepts an order only after its server validates the order, availability, price, permitted sales channel, and payment state. The final confirmation or accepted quote identifies the contracted items, charges, handoff details, and applicable order-specific terms.

Prices, taxes, deposits, and payment

Listed prices are subject to server-side validation at checkout. Any tax, delivery fee, deposit, balance, promotion, refund, or charge adjustment is shown in the accepted quote or final order record before payment. Card entry is handled by Square on Square-hosted checkout; GEN does not receive or store card numbers or CVV. A return page, email, screenshot, or pending processor notice does not itself mean payment has been confirmed. GEN will use the verified payment record before beginning fulfillment.

Pickup, local delivery, and changes

Pickup and staff delivery are limited to the approved local service area. Bryan–College Station delivery is reviewed using the requested date and address; that initial review does not reserve capacity or create a delivery obligation. Orders outside the approved area require written confirmation before acceptance. Made-to-order changes, substitutions, cancellations, and refunds depend on the accepted order or quote, production timing, food-safety facts, and applicable law. GEN seeks customer approval before a material substitution. Report a material issue promptly to hello@gentreats.shop with the order reference and relevant details so GEN can investigate and offer the available resolution.

Food safety, ingredients, and allergens

Treats may contain or be produced around milk, egg, wheat, soy, peanuts, tree nuts, and other allergens. Product information is not an allergen-free promise. Before GEN accepts an order, it must be able to confirm the applicable ingredients, sub-ingredients, major allergens, cross-contact information, storage, transport, and handoff instructions. Tell GEN about an allergy or other food concern before accepting a quote or paying; an accommodation exists only when GEN confirms it in writing. Follow the storage and serving instructions supplied with the accepted order, particularly for refrigerated or time-sensitive items.

Texas production and labels

GEN does not present a product for checkout unless its actual production, labeling, handling, and sales channel have been approved for that item. Texas law changed effective September 1, 2025: a qualifying cottage-food operation may sell many foods, including time-and-temperature-control-for-safety (TCS) foods when the operation registers with DSHS and follows the applicable temperature, labeling, and direct-delivery rules. Online payment may be accepted only after the customer can see the required label information. GEN must personally deliver a cottage-food online order through the operator, an employee, or a household member. If the cottage-food path does not apply, GEN follows the applicable Brazos County Health District, city, retail-food, or manufacturing requirements instead.

Cottage-food packaging, disclosure, and temperature controls

When a product is sold through the Texas cottage-food path, it is packaged to prevent contamination and carries the operation name, address or DSHS registration identifier, common product name, applicable major-allergen information, and the required private-residence disclosure. TCS products also require the production date and prescribed safe-handling/refrigeration information. Cold TCS food must be stored and delivered at a temperature that maintains an internal temperature of 41°F or below; hot TCS food must be maintained at 135°F or above. GEN records the actual product classification, batch, label version, storage rule, and handoff evidence before enabling payment for that product.

Privacy notice

GEN collects the contact, request, order, delivery, and support details that customers provide or that are created during checkout. GEN uses this information to respond to requests, create and fulfill orders, provide support, prevent fraud, protect the service, maintain required business records, and meet legal obligations. We share information only as needed with service providers that run GEN’s payment processing (Square), hosting (Vercel), operations database (Neon), secure media storage, and customer-support or legally required services. GEN does not sell personal data and does not use it for targeted advertising. GEN retains information only for as long as reasonably necessary for these purposes or as required by law, then deletes or de-identifies it where appropriate.

Privacy requests and appeals

You may ask to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal information, or appeal a privacy-request decision, by emailing hello@gentreats.shop with “Privacy Request” or “Privacy Appeal” in the subject line. To protect customers, GEN may verify a request before acting and may retain information when necessary for a transaction, tax, food-safety, fraud, dispute, or legal obligation. This is GEN’s customer privacy process whether or not a particular statutory exemption applies. Texas residents may also have rights under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act; requests are handled through the same accessible email route.

Accessibility and alternate ordering

GEN aims to provide an accessible experience with keyboard operation, visible focus, readable contrast, form labels and errors, descriptive controls, responsive layouts, and reduced-motion support. If any content or ordering step is not accessible, email hello@gentreats.shop with “Accessibility Help” in the subject line. Include the page or step, the issue, and a way to reach you; GEN will provide an equivalent ordering or information path while it investigates the issue. Do not include unnecessary medical information in the request.

Acceptable use and policy changes

Do not misuse the website, interfere with checkout, attempt to access another person’s order or quote, probe security controls, or submit false information. GEN may update these policies when its operations, service providers, or legal requirements change. The version available when a customer accepts the relevant order or quote is retained with that transaction where required. These policies do not waive consumer rights that cannot lawfully be waived and do not replace an order-specific written agreement.

Official guidance used in GEN’s launch process

GEN reviews applicable requirements before expanding products, delivery areas, or sales channels.
